Moving to the Raw roster:
Moving to the SmackDown roster:
The Hart Dynasty – David Hart Smith, Tyson Kidd, and Natalya
Moving to the ECW roster:
Brie & Nikki Bella
Moving Shelton Benjamin and William Regal to ECW is an interesting move and will succeed in freshening the ECW program. Benjamin has a chance to prove he’s a Main event by feuding with none other than Capt. charisma himself. Will William Regal be heel or face? We think William will take over Finlay’s role as the veteran schooling the new talent. This will give Regal a bigger role and more air time, which we like. Goldust on ECW is fine- Dusty has demonstrated he’s a funny guy in a segment- he and Hornswaggle had us in stitched with their impresion of ‘a few good men’, but Dusty in shape can also do a great match. Dusty will be stepping into the formidably large spot now vacated by Mark Henry.
The Hart Dynasty will probably continue their feuding with Finlay. Natalya will not only be acting as the voice of the new Hary Dynasy, she’ll also be wrestling with Women’s Champion McCool. That adds up to a lot of exposure on Smackdown. Matt Hardy will be a welcome addition to the Smackdown program, but what’s the best fit?
Raw wins in this trade up. Jack Swagger and Evan Bourne will be welcome fresh faces for the top talent to feud against. Gail Kim and Alicia Fox were the standout talent over at Smackdown, in spite of booking seemingly design to consign any Diva not named McCool to oblivion. Gail Kim’s risky style- when it works- is the big spot for every match she’s in and Alicia can take bumps and works hard to make each match work. The Diva division on RAW has had a much needed injection of talent into their program. Mark Henry will be another big guy on RAW- not sure what they have planned, there.

Last week WWE fans were shocked by the unexpected release of Mr. Kennedy and now this week WWE has come to terms with the Samoan bulldozer Umaga. While our source reports Umaga is telling everyone he quit, speculation is that Umaga has had his third strike with the wellness program.
Another surprise from yesterday’s RAW is Vickie’s announced retirement from the WWE. Looks like this isn’t a hoax, folks. Eddie’s widow quit as raw general manager on last nights show.
After her announcement, Edge came out and roasted her, telling her he wants a divorce. Vickie has rave reviews for her on-screen heel persona and marriage to edge, but now Vickie is made good money and wants to spend more time with her daughters. Vickie may make another appearance on Smackdown to tie up loose ends, but word is she’ll be gone by the end of the month.
Reports are that Batista has undergone surgery for his bicep and will be out of action for 4 to 6 months. Batista was taken out by legacy on last night’s Raw and his title has now been vacated. There will be a four-way at next Week’s Raw for the vacant WWE title: Randy Orton versus John Cena versus Triple H versus The Big Show.
Rumours are CM Punk is turning heel. The main event being advertised for the WWE super show on July 24 and the 25th is Big Show and CM Punk versus Rey Mysterio and John Cena.
CM punk will be up against edge for the world heavyweight title next week on raw.
Tommy dreamer will defend the ECW title against Christian.
We’re just a short time away from Exterme Rules as Smackdown hits the airwaves. The spoilers promoted a good show with hot action. Let’s see if those reports are truth or rumour.
We kick off Smackdown with The Cutting Edge, which has a set adorned with ladders of all sizes. Seriously. It looked like Bob Villa’s fantasy.
Edge was appropriately dressed in flannel and didn’t wait long to bring Jeff Hardy out, who of course snaked underneath as many ladders as he could. He then climbed one of the high ladders in the ring. The two then have a good dialogue as Edge demonstrates what’s going to happen on an opposing ladder. The two sitting atop ladders facing off was an amazing visual. Edge then swings the World Title into Jeff’s face and eventually toppling him and the ladder over.
Match 1: Shelton Benjamin vs. John Morrison
As usual, these two have a great match with both men looking spectacular. It was, however, significantly shorter than their usual bout. Morrison wins after the Starship Pain.
Winner: John Morrison
Next up, Chris Jericho comes out and cuts a promo on Rey Mysterio prior to R-Truth rapping his way down to the ring. He asks Jericho “what’s up?” but homey don’t play that. The two then have a verbal exchange before their bout.
Match 2: R-Truth vs. Chris Jericho
Another solid match here, with Truth getting to really show off his stuff here more than at any time in his WWE tenure(s), but Jericho ends up winning, reversing a top rope press into a Codebreaker.
Winner: Chris Jericho
As Jericho tries to head to the back, Rey Mysterio comes out for the surprise attack and has to be pulled off by referees.
Match 3: CM Punk vs. Umaga
I don’t think it was a good idea to put these two together right before the PPV. Their feud is already stale and this doesn’t help matters. The match, like the others tonight was good, but didn’t do anything to build excitement for Sunday. Punk wins with the GTS in the end, in a moment that could have been much bigger given the size of the Samoan.
Winner: CM Punk
Match 4: Melina/Eva/Gail Kim vs. Michelle McCool/Layla/Alicia Fox (Special Guest Referee: Maria)
Well, judging by Maria’s entrance, I think we can all figure out why she hasn’t been on TV in a while. I’m just saying…
Not a bad match here with the Divas, ending with Layla pinning Melina to give her some more credibility.
Match 5: Dolph Ziggler vs. Great Khali
Not quite a squash, but this match was all but a foregone conclusion.
Winner: Great Khali
Match 6: Edge vs. Rey Mysterio (non-title)
I could watch these guys every week and not get tired of their matches. Rey and Edge have absolutely awesome ring chemistry and it was fully on display tonight. I highly encourage you to get the torrent, hit YouTube or do whatever else you need to do to get this bout on your screen ASAP if you missed it the first time ‘round.
Great back and forth action with some very nice spots made this one of the top TV bouts of the year, as Edge eventually gets the clean(!) duke with the Spear. Wow. I was certain a DQ was coming.
Post-match, Edge gets a ladder and prepares to attack Rey before Hardy comes out with a chair ant attacks Edge. Eventually, he gets his licks in with the ladder and stands tall at the end of the night holding Edge’s belt.
Well, looks like the spoilers were true. This was another fantastic ep of SD! See you all soon.

He’s passionate about Monday night RAW.
We thought we’d point out some of the things that really made the show for us. We know, there are complaints about the changes in the program and WWE has recently admitted they consider this a rebuilding stage for the company and have therefore let the rating do as they will while they reorganize. But here at Wrestling Confidential, we see the cup as half full. There are plenty of little things popping up that are fresh and full of potential. So, to focus on the good, we’ve decided to list eight things we liked about this week’s RAW. We would list them as a top ten list, but that’s just too much thinking.
Santino walking off the ass cramp.
Santino hits all the highs and lows whenever he’s in the ring. Santino’s speedwalking back and forth off the ropes to work out an ass cramp was completely random and hilarious. The moment had to have been improvised as a fan kept yelling, ‘Walk it off’ as Santino sat in the corner waving to the ref for a moment and then, suddenly, Santino was up and speedwalking. We also enjoyed the facial expressions of amazement from Santino that his moves were actually working.
William Regal stomping on Santina’s head
That was a friggin’ awesome way to bury the Santina storyline. One moment the crowd is laughing, the next moment Regal gave Santina a short and brutal introduction to the sole of his boot. So, are we going to see a serious side for Santino now? He’s going to have to get even and there ain’t no comedy when the King of the Ring is representing England.
While the story is almost done, there is no way to wrap this up without Santino explaining himself to Beth Phoenix. We never could figure out why the Glamazon would date a man who loses every match. Santino’s miraculous burst of offense will either give Beth a reason to give Santino one more chance, or the Glamazon is going to dump Santino all together and refocus on the title belt.
Beth doesn’t have a line on the Diva belt right now and frankly, we don’t see her having a real interest in the butterfly belt, so we’re expecting a miracle from Santino. If there’s one person capable of pulling off anything in the ring, it’s Santino.
The other thing we have to look forward to is seeing what Regal gets for interfering with the Miss WrestleMania match. We like Regal with power. He’s so prudent and restrained. What we want to see is Regal get a feud with MVP.
Randy Orton’s creepy slinking into and out of the ring.
Seriously, Randy was channeling a boa constrictor, or something. First he slides into the ring on his belly and waits for a moment to strike at Cena and Batista and then gets noticed and without blinking reverses himself and slides back out of the ring. If there’s ever a ‘No Disqualification’ Jungle match, Randy’s going to be walking around with Batista and Cena’s shrunken heads. The whole effect of Orton’s calculating the perfect moment to strike gave us the willies.
Vickie’s bubbly gushing at winning Miss WrestleMania.
While Vickie may drive some people to dispair, we’ve never been disappointed in her ability to handle herself in front of the WWE audience. Vickie believes in maners (excuse me) and she’s got the Beauty Pageant wave down pat. Jim Ross on commentary MADE this match. Vickie’s bubbly gushing when she was coronated was really…a moment to behold.
Maryse interfering with contender’s match to have Kelly Kelly win
All right, Maryse! You can’t beat Mickie fair, so cheat! Maryse is best booked as a closet champion and we’re glad to see WWE doing the Mickie James/Maryse feud right. We knew Maryse had something special going on when she injured herself at a live show just after winning the belt and refused to be carried from the ring without clutching her title belt tightly to her chest first. Maryse hasn’t disappointed since, being both unbelievably hot and unbelievably arrogant and annoying as a champion. Marse is better than us gawky wrestling fans and she knows it and…we know it too. It’s high school all over again.
Vickie practicing a flogsplash with Chavo.
So decides to give Vickie a crash course in wrestling in the office after announcing a match between Vickie and Santina. The camera starts with a closeup of Chavo’s face and then pans back to show Chavo lying prone and encouraging Vickie to jump off the couch in the office and do a frog splash on him. Vickie’s standing on the couch, shaking her head and admitting this match is a bad idea. Hilarious. We like that Vickie is willing to ham it up and make fun of herself. Good time to note that we thought that Vickie actually won that staredown with Orton.
After watching MVP get squashed night after night, it’s great to see MVP doing his thing. MVP’s moveset is fun to watch and we like to watch MVP execute the playmaker. MVP and Hardy have great chemistry in the ring.
Jerry lawler sorting out The Miz
The Miz calling out Cena is beginning to get a little old and his rapping was painful. So we thought Jerry Lawler coming out and giving The Miz some mentoring was bang on what needed to happen next. By the way, congratulations to Jerry for winning his triple handicap match against Austin, Hogan and Bruno Sammartino.
